Analyzes the concept behind food portion sizes, recognizing how portion sizes have increased over time to unhealthy levels and the health risks of being overweight or obese. Teaches students how to determine the best portion size by comparing servings to ordinary objects such as the human hand, how to determine one's body mass index (BMI), the importance of eating a variety of foods to get a variety of nutrients, and how to evaluate one's eating patterns in order to pinpoint unhealthy eating habits.
